Kollmorgen VFS5-240-00-2031E

Overview

Spindle drive VFD with resolver/encoder feedback, meant for CNC applications where spindle orientation and speed regulation are important. It seems that it might be be a modified version of the BDS5 servo drive (the documentation would indicate they are very similar).

Wiring Diagram

  • Page 10 shows the overall BDS5 to PSR module wiring diagram, with C1/C2/C3/C4/C6 pinouts
  • Page 12 shows the C5 (RS-232/RS-485) connector wiring
  • Page 13 shows the C2 (customer I/O) connector wiring
  • Page 24 shows the C3 (resolver) connector wiring

Power Lug Screws

M5-0.8x12mm SEMS screws with captive washers, similar to these:

Stainless Steel Pan Head Screws with Spring Lock Washer, M5 x 0.80 mm Thread, 12mm Long | McMaster-Carr

The spade/ring terminals must be less than ~16.1mm wide to fit between the barriers of the terminal block.
